| Discussing ManU and Premier League by the campfire. |
We we're picked up at 9 to be driven to Olpopongi, a maasai village outside Moshi. In 2009 they opened for tourists, with 9 traditional huts plus a big hut with showers and toilets "by european" standard to meet the needs of tourists.
11 maasai work here, today and tonight to serve only us as we're the only ones here. To be honest I feel a bit uncomfortable with all the fuzz and attention. But, that's what we're here for.
We got a lot of information from the three guides working here about maasai history and way of life.
It has been a nice day outside, getting the first taste of Africa. Around the campfire tonight, watching the stars and listening to the maa language with hyenas screaming and laughing just outside the village, I'm starting to realise that we're really in Tanzania.
But even though some of the differences are clear and obvious, it always strikes me no matter where I am, how similar we humans are all over the globe. Some see all the differences, I tend to see all the similarities.
